Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, brown sugar, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Pour the marinade over the wings in another bowl and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours).
  4. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack with olive oil.
  5. Remove wings from marinade, letting excess drip off, and arrange them in a single layer on the wire rack.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Brush with remaining marinade halfway through cooking.
  7. If desired, broil for an additional 3-5 minutes for extra crispiness.
