  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • Extra whole hazelnuts for garnish (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add in the vanilla extract, flour, cocoa powder, and salt; mix until combined.
  4. Roll tablespoon-sized dough into balls and coat them in chopped hazelnuts.
  5. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Make indentations in the center of each cookie using your thumb or a spoon.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until slightly puffed but still soft in the center.
  8. After removing from the oven, gently re-press the indentations if needed and fill each with chocolate hazelnut spread.
