Ingredients
Scale
1 cup granulated sugar
3 cups water
5 cups fresh or frozen strawberries (cleaned and quartered)
2 tablespoons lemon juice (or lime juice)
Instructions
Rinse the strawberries under cool water, remove the green tops, and cut them into quarters.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine 3 cups of water with 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir until boiling, then continue stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow the syrup to cool slightly.
In a large bowl, mix the cooled syrup with the quartered strawberries and lemon juice until well combined.
Transfer the mixture in small batches to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
Pour the blended mixture into a freezer-safe container, ensuring there are no air pockets. Cover tightly and freeze overnight or for at least 6 hours.
Before serving, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes for easier scooping.
