  • 4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
  • 4 tablespoons marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 810 slices turkey turkey pepperoni (or preferred pizza topping)
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • Sliced black olives (optional)
  • Sautéed mushrooms (optional)
  • Sliced bell peppers (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Additional marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Spread marinara sauce on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer half a cup of shredded mozzarella on top of the sauce on two slices.
  3. Add turkey turkey pepperoni and any additional toppings over the cheese.
  4. Top with remaining slices of bread (sauce side down).
  5. Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.
  6. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Allow sandwiches to rest for 2 minutes before slicing and serving with additional marinara for dipping.
