  • 330 g self raising flour
  • 360 g granulated sugar
  • 360 g butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g butter (salted)
  • 800 g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
  • 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional)
  • Electric green food coloring (a few drops)
  • 250 g Orange fondant
  • 200 g Black fondant
  • 1 tbsp CMC powder
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your baking tin.
  2. In a large bowl, mix self-raising flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and eggs until fluffy. Combine both mixtures with milk and vanilla until just combined.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared tin and bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  4. For the buttercream, beat together butter and powdered sugar until creamy; add vanilla and food coloring to achieve desired color.
  5. Crumble cooled chocolate cake into jars, layering with green buttercream. Decorate with fondant legs and sprinkles.
