  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp black cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos (for glaze)
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp whole milk

Instructions

  1. Warm milk slightly and combine with sugar and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and half of the black cocoa powder. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter; mix well.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and allow it to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about an hour).
  5. For the filling: mix brown sugar, black cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, softened butter, and crushed Oreos.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle; evenly spread the filling over it.
  7. Roll tightly into a log; cut into equal pieces and place them cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for about 26 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For the glaze: blend powdered sugar with milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and crushed Oreos until smooth; drizzle over rolls before serving.
