- 3 and 3/4 cups bread flour
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 and 1/2 cups warm water, 110 – 115 degrees (F)
- 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons olive oil (divided)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt or garlic powder
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
- In a large bowl, mix bread flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, and salt.
- Slowly add warm water while stirring until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 16 pieces. Roll each piece into long ropes and tie into knots.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place knots on parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic and parsley.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
