  • 1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Rolls
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup half and half or whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter for cooking
  • Powdered sugar for serving
  • Fresh fruit for serving
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and half and half until well combined. Stir in vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt.
  2. Poke holes in the bottom of each Hawaiian roll. Dip the rolls in the custard mixture for about 30 seconds on each side without over-soaking.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the soaked rolls for 30-60 seconds on each side until golden brown.
