  • ½ cup unsalted butter (total, melted)
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
  • 3 small yellow onions (1 diced and 2 thinly sliced)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried mustard
  • 4 cups vegetable oil

Instructions
