  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1½ tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Optional: green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the cod fillets in the mixture for 15–30 minutes.
  3. Choose to bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes or pan-sear in a skillet over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes per side.
  4. For an optional glaze, simmer leftover marinade with cornstarch mixed with water until thickened.
  5. Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds alongside rice or veggies.
