Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (113g)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (225g)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (65g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries (60g)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for raspberry sauce)
  • About 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt together the butter and chocolate chips until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate mixture until fully combined.
  5. Carefully fold in the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder until just incorporated.
  6. In another saucepan, combine raspberries, sugar for the sauce, and water over medium heat until the berries break down into a thick sauce.
  7. Pour two-thirds of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, dollop raspberry sauce on top, and swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Pour remaining batter over the raspberry layer and swirl again lightly.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges pull away from the pan and center is set but moist.
  10. Let cool completely before slicing.
