  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. In one shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, pour in buttermilk.
  2. Dip each fish fillet into buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully fry the coated fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, lime juice, mayonnaise, honey, salt, and pepper to create the slaw.
  5. Warm tortillas and assemble tacos by placing fried fish and slaw inside each tortilla.
