  • 1 lb turkey sausage
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 14.5 ounces petite diced tomatoes
  • 8 ounces ditalini pasta
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the turkey sausage until fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add diced onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; sauté for 1-2 minutes until onions soften.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and petite diced tomatoes; bring to a boil. Add ditalini pasta and cook for about 8 minutes until al dente.
  5. Reduce heat to medium; stir in cream cheese and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
