  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and grease an 8×8 pan.
  2. Prepare the filling by mixing together brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and mini chocolate chips.
  3. In a large bowl, sift flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Create a well in the center and add buttermilk and melted butter; mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead gently on a floured surface until smooth and shape into a rectangle (10×14 inches).
  5. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Roll tightly from one end to another and slice into nine equal pieces.
  7. Place in your prepared pan and drizzle with remaining melted butter; bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For frosting: beat cream cheese with heavy cream; gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder until smooth.
