  • 1/4 tsp ground all spice
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g dark brown sugar
  • 200 g apples (grated)
  • 110 g vegetable oil (room temperature)
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 140 g sour cream (14-18% room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g butter (room temperature)
  • 165 g powdered sugar
  • 23 tsp caramel
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. Prepare the caramel sauce by heating sugar and water until golden, then adding butter and cream.
  3. In one bowl, mix dry ingredients; in another, combine sugars, grated apples, oil, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For frosting, beat butter and powdered sugar; mix in cooled caramel sauce and vanilla.
  7. Once the cake cools completely, frost it generously with the caramel buttercream.
