  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ⅓ cup softened butter for filling
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar for filling
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon for filling
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar for icing
  • ¼ cup cream cheese for icing
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract for icing
  • ⅛ tsp salt for icing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, mix together sugar, softened butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Combine well.
  3. Add the frothy yeast mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Transfer dough to an oiled bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
