  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in chilled butter until crumbly. Add cold water to bind and chill for 30 minutes.
  2. For the filling, combine diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
  3. Roll out chilled dough into a rectangle on a floured surface; transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Spoon apple mixture along the center of the dough. Cut slits on either side and fold over to create a braided effect.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before glazing.
  6. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze; drizzle over cooled kringle.
